About the Job
- Assists with ensuring the center is properly prepared for the daily schedule:
- maintains adequate inventory of supplies and follows procedures for notification of shortages and reordering.
- preparation of supplies.
- sterilization of equipment.
- cleaning the surgical suite between cases.
- Maintain sterility and safety logs and protocols.
- Opening of sterile packs, instruments and supplies to ensure sterile environment during case.
- Preparing for set up of surgical cases and assisting in surgical cases.
- Process specimens form surgical cases.
- Reporting and troubleshooting of all broken and defective supplies or equipment.
- Checking and restocking center.
- Organizing supplies and equipment in efficient manner.
- Provides in-service to staff on equipment and procedures in the surgical center.
- Assist coordinator and nurses with day to day administrative tasks as needed for cases.
- Maintains a safe environment for treating the surgical patient, including safeguards to protect the patient from cross infection takes an active role for identifying issues for quality improvement.
- Orders back office and medical supplies.
